Make Your 2018 an Easier Year

    January 18, 2018

It’s the start of another year. Did you make a New Year’s Resolution for this year? Did you know that, according to the Journal of Clinical Psychology, only eight percent of people feel they have been successful in achieving their goal? What about setting a goal you can achieve? If 2018 is your year to make life easier for you or a loved one (or both!), Visiting Nurse Home Care and Hospice (VNHCH) in North Conway offers services to help you achieve that goal.

“Our services are all about how you live,” says Sandy Ruka, MS, RN, VNHCH Executive Director. “From home care to hospice, we focus on the quality of life at every stage.” Whether you are recovering from an illness or an injury at home or want to age in place at home with comfort, safety and confidence, VNHCH offers services to make your 2018 easier.

VNHCH’s physical, occupational and speech therapists help patients recover after an illness or injury at home. Skilled nurses are available for services such as wound care, post-surgery care, and chronic disease management. Aging in place is possible through a range of services from light housekeeping and other routine household tasks to more hands-on personal care services such as bathing, dressing and eating. VNHCH’s hospice caregivers improve the quality of life for the patient and their family during life’s final journey and beyond.

Has a VNHCH caregiver or staff member improved your quality of life? Looking for a way to convey a special “Thank You?” We invite you to consider our “Shining Star” program. Completing our Grateful Patient form is a great way to thank VNHCH caregivers and staff members. “When we receive a Grateful Patient form thanking one of our caregivers or staff members, we celebrate by giving him or her a Shining Star pin,” explained Ruka. “It’s a way to show our commitment to excellence.”

Will 2018 be your year to get your end-of-life plans in order? VNHCH can help with your Advance Directives, the document that makes your wishes clear for your end-of-life journey. Every Wednesday afternoon appointments are available at the VNHCH office at 1529 White Mountain Highway; a Respecting Choices® advance care planning Facilitator is available to explain the forms and help you complete them. Don’t leave your loved ones guessing what your wishes may have been.

For more information about how VNHCH can make your 2018 easier or to set up a time to complete your Advance Directives or for information on the Shining Star program, please call 603-356-7006 or 800-499-4171. You may also visit our website at VNHCH.org and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook! VNHCH is located at 1529 White Mountain Hwy in North Conway. Passionate people. Compassionate care.
